So today I went to talk to my english teacher about my outline for my term paper. Needless to say, my outline wasn’t too great considering I had to converse with my teacher. I was prepared, standard protocol: listen to his feed back in class, make edits, then see him to go more in depth. I get there and we look over some things and he says,” I wish everyone was like you, you actually make edits and fix things based on my feedback.” I look at him blankly for a moment and think to myself,” So you wish everyone would screw up their outlines? Learning from mistakes is important sure, but wouldn’t you rather have them get it the first time?” Considering how the student before me gave him a hard time I silently smiled and kept my mouth shut. If only grades were reflective of your effort when trying to fix a mistake. What do I gather from all of this you might ask? One, my teacher at least sees that I’m trying, and two, a little birdie gave me hint as to where would be the best place to study for the grammar section on our final ;)
